What can the SR20 swap into without much trouble?
In Japan, Nissan 180 and 240SX's came standard with SR20's.
SR20 into Datsun 510 is a relatively common swap. As is SR20 into AE86 Corolla, (though personally I'd stick with the 4AGE/GZE in that instance.)
Could one be swapped into a 200SX S12? I know they're common in 240Z's but any other cars that are pretty well documented?
I think an SR20 S12 conversion wouldn't be too hard, considering that car came standard with a CA18.
I don't know the specifics, but these guys seem to:

"S13 engine/trans mount, S12 transmission (71B or 71C, gearbox side bell bolt patterns are the same) with S13 SR bellhousing, that's all that's needed to get it mounted. Wiring is kind of easy, depending on what year, and how exactly you want to do it.
BUT, you have another problem. The auto S12 chassis is different from the manual trans chassis. The trans crossmember mounting is different between the two.
Otherwise an SR swap is no harder than any S13 or S14. I did my SR20DE swap in a day, and had it running in two days... By myself. But I did months of research and planning before I did it.

Out of curiosity, you would need a SR20 from Japan correct? You couldn't swap a FWD SR20 motor into a RWD chasis, can you?
It can be done, but custom mounts and I believe a custom trans adapter will be needed. you may need to consult a technician, as a majority of my info is from an enthusiast site (no disrespect intended to present company), but not necessarily from any authority i.e Nissan et al
The SR20 swaps into the U13 Altima pretty easily, that chassis came with it over in Japan.
The SR20 already comes in the Sentra B13-B15 and Infiniti G20 P10-P11.
