Ok so there is one other small problem with my Civic. In cold weather (below 30), my steering squeeks until the inside of the car warms up. It sounds like it is coming from right behind the steering wheel (where the wheel meets the column).

plastics are probably rubbing. I had that on my caravan and my parents old malibu.
That was my guess. Anything I can do to fix or just deal with it.
you may be able to lubricate it, or shave it, I just dealt with it. a remote start would eliminate it too 
aftermarket steering wheel :)
my escort squeeks at the same place... I might care at some point.
I've had horn contacts do that.
