Hi all,
Just curious what gas prices are in your area. I live just outside of Vancouver BC, and although we have always had high gas prices, it has really shot up in the last week. Today the price hit $2.10/L CDN, which is roughly $6.25/gallon USD. We've never seen it this high, and I suspect that it won't be coming down any time soon.
Our Honda CR-V is still going strong, but it might be time fo me to consider a hybrid or all electric vehicle at some point.
$3.73/gallon in palm beach gardens, Fl today. Up .40 from a week ago- same Costco both days.

Oil is not being discovered where it's easy to get at. However the wind blows everywhere as does the sun shine. So solar and wind generators can be found right in your neighborhood. If you make too much electricity you can sell it to your neighbors. The good thing about that is the closer to the generator source you are the less loss to resistance there is. Even if you're lucky enough to have an oil well in your back yard ( anybody?) you have to send it off someplace to be refined and then send it to a gas station to buy it. electricity you can have in your garage and charge overnight.
All that means is there is a great incentive to buy and use EV's.

$3.93/gallon this afternoon at the full serve in town (Holden, Ma).
The self serve places are over $4 (I think I saw $4.19 @ Speedway and $4.59 @ Mobil posted on FB).
I think every station I passed in Fitchburg was $3.99 this morning.

Ontario hit 2 dollars/liter for premium yesterday.
$3.99 for 87 at every station I passed today.
I paid $3.89 at the Shell station since I get a 10 cent discount by using my Shell card (take note of this).
I just filled up 2 hours ago near Philadelphia.
Thanks for the reality check. I should mention that the $2.10/L CDN is for the 87 octane. 91 octane is $2.22/L CDN ($6.61/gallon USD). Yikes!

Only $1.89/litre in Nanoose Bay and south on Vancouver Island.
It's about $5.40 near me. Saw a station with premium at $5.99. There is at least one station in LA that is $7.50.
$5.79 for premium north of San Diego. The pump shut off at $90 before the Pathfinder was full. I also filled up in the desert west of Chuckwalla raceway on I-10 yesterday. Don't recall the price, but it was over $90 to fill a Mazda3 that I was driving on 0 miles range remaining for the previous 20 miles, so no choice but to stop.
Edit: The worst part about all this will be driving back to Wisconsin this week with a trailer.

About 6 weeks ago I sold off a 2007 Prius with 160k and now watching the market I think it would sell today for $1,000 more.

There is plenty of oil for the next several hundred years and more. This is being driven by politics. Enjoy.
