Turbo Pontiac Firefly. Always wanted to see how fast this 3 cylinder 1.0 turbo engine will go. My dream would be to take one to a HPDE and run down some big money cars.

And a 66 Malibu SS. Don't ask me why - I just do.

Was the firefly ever available in the US?

or a jeep FC-150

and perhaps like that white/woody country squire autocrosser on here, i'd love to rock the same thing basically, either that or a caprice/roadmaster, manual trans of course.

I know who that is

No, they were never sold in the US. The turbo car was available in 87/88 (Mk1 car) in the US, and from 87-91 in Canada. I have run high 14's with my 87 car. I estimate power at under 150. My friends Mk1 3 cyl makes 230

Some of my wierdest ideas.

2JZ in a Crown Victoria, and another in a C4 Corvette.
Twin Turbo Ford 300 straight six in an early mustang road race car.
Acura TL 3.7 and SH-AWD swap into a Honda Odyssey.
Ford Maverick 4 door 302 stage rally car.
Toyota MR2 (AW11) Supercharged M2 rallycross beater.

Weird cars that I straight WANT.

I have wanted a 2001 Mustang Cobra R since it came out
I would really like a MINT 5 speed turbo MkIII Supra.

It seems like there is a whole list of people who love Maximas on here.

But even among us maxima enjoying folks there are very few going for the 2nd gen body style.. I think its only because a lot of people havent been exposed to them. They're light, solid, have decent power, good potential in the motor, come with 5spds, IRS, and they look pretty decent if you do it right.

Just like the 87 accord i had.. way better car than most people would guess.. the 2nd gen max is the same, but LESS known.

On that twincharged Camry.. im glad he admitted to low boost on the video, because that does NOT look like the 520whp he claims it dynoed. But its still cool.

I want anything AMC, which pretty much makes me a weirdo on any board. My dream car in high school was a tan Gremlin with a brown interior on poverty caps with a 401 and enough torque to sit it up on the back bumper. I still want to do that.

For some reason I have been thinking about early 70's Cutlasses lately.

Something like this with a recent GM diesel (Duramax?) and matching gearbox.

I could fill it up with biodiesel and have an "Eco-Hoopty"

Well, I had a couple in mind until you added the "even on this board" part. Haven't seen one yet that doesn't rock.

1966 Pontiac Grand Prix:

1971 Ford Thunderbird:

Just because my uncle (father's brother) had them back when I was a kid. He was the only other "gearhead" in my family (a mechanical engineer for Teledyne Offshore Drilling). He also had a 68 Corvette and a BMW 1600 for half a minute. The 1600 (and watching the 1967 or 68 Monaco Grand Prix on ABC's "Wide World of Sports") is probably why my childhood brain picked the twisties instead of the drags or ovals in the first place. He was murdered on "shore leave" in Indonesia during the mid 1970s. My mom actually attended my first SCCA drivers' school in 1992, and the first words out of her mouth were, "I wish your Uncle Louis was here to see this..". I emphatically agreed.

What exactly is "weird" on here?

I'll have my '79 Bronco back. I like my '96, but I loved my 2nd-gen. Put a top on this one and get rid of all but one of the rednecks, and this could be a pic of mine:

C4 Corvette... once I figure out just exactly what the hell a "4+3" transmission is. I want a Corvette, but I need to be able to jack it up in my own driveway, so no C5s or newer. I don't care for the C3 bodystyle, C2s are too expensive, and I just don't care at all for C1s. That leaves C4s. I assume the tacky gold chain will be either in the glovebox or center console.

V6 Mustang... 2011 V6 Mustang, that is. Stripper model with just whatever performance upgrades I can coax out of Ford (3.31 diff w/LSD is the only thing on the build app on the website).

Corolla FX16. Were I not in California, that'd be an FX20.

Oh, and I like my 5.0. I'll like it a lot better in 2 weeks once I ditch the AOD for a 5-speed

I miss my Corolla FX-16 GTS. Fun engine (4AGE), okay handling for a WWD, and could hold a hell of a lot more in the hatch than a Honda Civic. I once had a complete Honda RS125 GP motorcycle disassembled with spares in the back with the seats folded down.
