There's one of these for sale, locally. They seem like cool little cars. Edumacate me, please.
I don't know much about the cars other than the Sunbeam Tiger was the one with a Ford v8 put in it. Wikipedia has a entry for them that should be a good start.
In reply to Xceler8x:
The Sunbeam Alpine GT is not related to the Sunbeam Tiger.
It is based on the Rootes Group's Arrow platform. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rootes_Arrow
In reply to 93EXCivic:
Does the GT add something to the normal Alpine that would indicate the later Rootes Arrow chassis? Otherwise the earlier, but not the earliest Alpines do have a lot to do with the Tiger.
Rust is a problem with these, as is parts availability. You might have to get stuff from the UK for them - over there, look for "Sunbeam Rapier".

I don't think that there was an Alpine GT pre-Rootes Arrow chassis. I could be wrong...
In reply to rotard:
Well I would be wrong then.
I have never heard of an Alpine GT that old. What does the GT mean with those Alpines?
Either way you should buy it.
I had to check to see if they actually existed, myself. It seems that the GT came with a hard top, had 4 seats, and had a wooden dash and steering wheel. It also had a quieter intake.
There were a lot of nice ones this past weekend at Euro Fest at the BMW factory. As always, going to the show was bad for my automotive ADD.

I learn something new everyday. Now we expect a build thread.

Looks kinda ugly IMO.
