I am wondering where my supercharger bypass valve has to go on my 944 S/C build. It sounds like to needs to go in front of the maf but then it seems to me that the same air is being measured twice. I am running a draw through MAF (air filter -> MAF -> S/C inlet ->S/C outlet -> Intercooler-> throttlebody)
Do I put the air bypass valve in front of, or behind the MAF?
From behind the supercharger to in front of the supercharger so the air can bypass the supercharger. with the MAF in front of all of it so the air does not go through the MAF 2x. The maf will adjust to what air is being pulled through it and in turn what is being used by the motor. HOWEVER It would be MUCH better if you could go to a MAP based system.
BTW I have a Supercharger system on the bench for my 924s what unit did you use? I ended up with a bacterized M62 unit using parts from a C230 and a early 90's Buick.
In reply to dean1484: So after the MAF, but before the S/C. Thanks.
I am using an Eaton M90 long snout from a 1990 Ford Supercoupe. The inlet and outlet flanges are super simple. I wish I could convert to short snout from a JAG but they are quite pricey still. See build thread here: Supercharged 944
