They're finally available in the US thanks to CARB certification, granted at a higher price than expected (either due to how the British calculate their MSRPs or inflation). Considering how newer cars are getting a bit more refined (and in turn, numb) I sort of like the concept of the new Lotus Emira. They did label it as their 'GT' car but they still happen to retain their hydraulic steering rack (at least in the V6. I heard the I4 is an electromechanical rack but people seem to like it). Any deposit holders here? Would love to hear about the current buying experience (or driving experience if you're lucky enough).

The Emira definitely looks the part, and I like the option of V6 or inline-four.

I don't have any personal experience in the buying department, but I'm sure there is someone else here who is a bit more familiar.

I saw one in traffic a couple of days ago. It's absolutely stunning. This car is far more exciting to me than any modern f car or Lamborghini. Maybe I should start buying lotto tickets!

I've only seen them in pictures that owners post. Seneca Blue is my favorite color by far. I think I'm gonna try to be the one who buys one in its last year of production if I can save up enough.

Love it, and really like the Evora 400/GT it replaced as well. Feel like it is the best offering on today's market for someone that wants a driving experience +400hp give or take.

Got to sit in one, open up the engine bay, and speak to the owner at a track day in the UK.  It's an awesome car, looks fantastic.  Just fell off my radar because you couldn't get one stateside for a long time, and the prices have been creeping up vs. the original MSRP.

Yeah, I did find out a bit why the prices crept up. Someone mentioned that the 70k price was in GBP, but also the British apparently don't include various taxes and things in the final cost so it somehow translated to around 90k here. I here that once the first editions sell out, they will be cheaper because they can/will be stripped down with less options included. It seems like a fair comparison to the Cayman 4.0 right now though, without the intangibles (dealer network, etc)

Not sure just how well they are going to do in the long run. Its a limited sample size but about 75% of the people I know who got one are reselling already and you can already get one of the launch editions sub MSRP used with say 100 miles. I really like the idea of the car around say 90K optioned to the hilt but we shale see if they sell. They are selling ina seriously dangerous price point, you can get a "exotic" with low miles in and around that payment. used V10 R8, really nice Vantage that sort of thing.

I really want to see some reviews of the 4 cylinder because that car is aimed right at my wheelhouse. Lower power and more street fun setup.

I believe there is already a 4 cyl review. Seems to be liked by the reviewers as well except there may be need for software updates/transmission logic tuning.

I have one on order

I bought my Elise new (ordered) 17 years ago. Been bulletproof.

I also had a 211 that I campaigned for 7 years that recently left the stable. Hoping to replace with an Atom.

I am over here waiting for all of the Evora 400 owners to trade their cars in and drop the price by about $10K.  A mid/high mileage Evora 400 or BMW 1M would be a difficult decision for me.

Based on your name, you probably have the most interesting collection of cars I've seen. Great taste...very envious!

I've also been looking at Evoras and their values are all over the place. Tough decisions.

Looks like it is what I want, a small angry engine that makes enough power to be playful but not go to jail in 1-2nd gear. at 80K optioned out well I could see pulling the trigger. Plus they do a blak/red interior with contrast stitiching which is what I always love to order.

Pissed off with envy is more succinct.
