So we have really enjoyed our 2010 Nissan Armada 4x4. It has given us 40k trouble free miles. So when the time came to look for a replacement I figured a new body style would be a good place to start.
Research revealed that there is a glut of base model armada's on the market from rental companies. Because of this they trade hands for half of their initial MSRP after a year.
$25,000 later and I am the proud owner of 2018 4x4 Armada SV. It is in excellent condition and has 37,000 miles. I looked around and found one with the power tailgate and heated cloth seats.
I spent $1250.00 at the local shop that does all the leather installs for the local new car dealers. That got me three rows of leather seats and door panels installed.
I bought a full set of weathertech mats and am picking up a set of 20 inch takeoffs with 50 miles from a platinum next week for $1000. So for roughly $27,500 all in my wife will be rocking a one year old full size 4x4 SUV with new leather and tires.
Pimpwife was pretty stoked and didn't have any idea it was coming.
Good on ya, that's a nice lookin' ride!

Rewind the leather comments. Are you saying you had a cloth interior upgraded to leather for 1250? Is oem takeout or custom?

I know these get mixed feelings on looks, but i like them. The previous model was good too. I liked a few details of the infinity version and this is a nice mashup of them.
And yeah im also interested in the leather info. Nice ride!

Many of the cars sold at new car stores with leather originally came with cloth seats. I would wager any large city has at least one if not multiple shops that install leather kits in new cars. Generally they only do current models or recently outdated ones.
But to answer your question yes for $1249.00 installed the local shop replaced three rows of cloth seats and four door panels with leather. I dropped the truck off Monday at one o clock and it was finished by Tuesday at 11. I think he gave me a little break on the price because I have a dealer license, but he quoted me $1450.00 before I told him I was a dealer.
Pimpwife deserves every bit of this for all the antics she puts up with.
Great score!
I could forgo the leather and 20s and really be happy with $25k. Wheels turning.
Let's not forget the 7,000 lb tow rating

Here is the old armada. My sister is actually buying it from me next month.
I will snap some interior pictures of the new one tomorrow.
Nice. I really like that newer body style. Not funky or edgy, but a classic SUV look done right. I could never get past the roof curve on the earlier ones.

Trust me the leather transformed the car. It had weird mousey fabric before but now it looks, feels and smells like a new 70k qx80 inside.

I like the front end much better than the Infiniti version. Its headlights look much better than the weird squinty Infiniti ones.
If I sold my F250 (my towing vehicle)
And sold my Montero Limited (my 4x4 vehicle)
And sold wife's Mazda5 (wife's DD)
That should net about $12k. Add to that a $13k note, hmmm???
The internet tells me that $13k at 4% for 4 years is just under $300 per month.

Im way more surprised that you can get that amount of upholstery done for $1250 than I am about the 25k. Congrats on the upgrade!

Looks like you can buy the kits on Ebay for $1000. Figure his cost is $800. He made 450 from selling it and installing it.

I am selling the 2010 platinum 4x4 to my sister for 12k.
I did 72 months to keep the payment under $400. 4.04% intrest on the loan equals a payment of $396. I was paying $370 a month on the old armada. Oddly enough this truck is $15 a month less to insure. I should make up the $11 a month difference in gas savings. This trucks computer shows a mpg average of 16.8 vs the old trucks 12.9.
Not to pry too much...but which rental company has them in 4x4? We have an Enterprising store nearby and they have almost nothing that is a 4x4...
Beauty!
Way better than the old one - which was essentially a Titan - American Deep south product
this is a JDM Patrol - will you rebadge? I know it doesnt get all the offroad chops as our friends in Aus get but i am happy the new Patrol is here
i am tempted to trade in our old 08Land Cruiser
I read the as "Surprised my wife with a 2018 Amanda."
I don't think she'd like that.
In reply to Appleseed :
Well it's not an Amy. So there's that.
Amanda doesn't advertise.

Agreed. My boss always rents the QXwhatever when we travel. rides great, drives great, looks like it's wearing a clown nose.
