I do enjoy low traction fun, which is my main draw to rallyX in the first place, but it's also not fun to not accelerate. Right now I have some lightly used General Altimax 43 (?) all seasons. This past year in the dirt they were plenty fun for me. However, spring is a messy beast. If it could be done trackside, would you guys take the time/effort to switch for slightly oversized old snow tires? It has like 3" of snow but the field will be in the sun above freezing

See pics for condition. I don't remember why they are worn so badly on that edge, I think it was inboard. 2012 tires.

I've been really crossing on snow tires for a few years. I found these Firestone winter forces that had nice, blocky tread. Got them at the end of the season for $50 each, new. I'd look for something like that- the tires in your pic look pretty worn out. Snow tires lose much of their traction after the first 1/3 or so is worn.

So it's more the blockiness of the tread that helps with dirt/mud rather than like the particular tread pattern? Because my all seasons aren't much different than these
