Take a kid to the junkyard day.

In my never ending quest to make the world a better place, lol, I have once again done my part. My daughter's boyfriend who is the niceist and most polite kid I have ever met, had his car broken into by some happy shinys. They broke out the driver's door window, and the rear quarter window of his 97 Acura Integra. His parents are no help so I took him to the local Pick & Pull and we got him a new window. He had never been to a junkyard before, and was astounded. We got him a couple other items while we were there, and he already has plans to go back. He has already offered his help on anything I need which I knew beforehand as I said he is a good kid. Karma works in my favor today.

I thought integra break ins were history... either way- good job man. Get him started now and THEN he can marry your daughter.

The JY is the best pace to learn to work on cars.   Accidental breakage isn't catastrophic.  

The other great thing about bringing your daughter’s boyfriend to the junkyard is that there are so many sharp and heavy things that he can potentially have “bumped his head on”.

Seriously, who can tell the difference between blood and transmission fluid once it’s soaked into all the dirt and speedy dry?

I thought that's why they keep old Econoline vans in the yard.

Yup.  15 year-old son's LS400 crapped a fuel pump last month.  Took him to the pick and pull, found a LS400 and I said "fetch".  Ok, I helped, but he was eager to participate.

While there are many shiny happy people I would love to show the JY to, this kid is already one of us. He doesn't have any experience, but he is a car guy through and through.

I love taking someone with me that has never been to a junkyard. 

Cant wait to take my oldest, he is 12 but they don't let you in until you are 16 down here. I might give it a shot one of these days as he is 5’10”
