I just went to look at THIS 320i I went half hoping it wouldn't be as advertised, but it was. Basically as rust free as a local car gets - surface rust below the rear tail-lights, but the underbody and inner wheel wells are remarkably clean. It sounds great, and it's really tempting to pick it up as a weekend cruiser and auto-xer.
The problem is:
I have two garage spots being taken up by an M5 I'm parting (anyone want it?
) and an E30 that I "meant to get running again". The E30 is a really clean auto example that I pulled the drivetrain to clean and make 5-speed.
I also have a MkII MR2 in the garage that I'm fixing for a friend.
Am I mad? Is there a cure?
If anyone else wants details on the car, I'll happily refer you to the owner.

Very clean looking ride. I've always wanted one, but for no real reason.
The ad says SOLD...did you buy it? Looks like a good car.

What the...? Oh, I see, the thread's been revived to sell the same car that sold last in 2010...
I've never had an E21, but I've had an E30 and a 2002.
It could be that the E21 is the happy medium, but everything I know suggests to me that it's the worst of both worlds: Less of the lightness and coolness of a 2002 (yes, subjective) with less power and suspension development than the E30.
That being said, the worst of those two worlds might not be that bad, and that sounds like a pretty good deal. OTOH, it sounds like it wants just enough attention that you might be better off putting the E30 together...
There you go! I've given you sufficient reason to take it or leave it!
I always thought the e21 looked better than the 02 and the e30. Especially with the rare 7" headlights rather than the quad 5 1/2" lights
There is no question...it is a deal. I think I need to pass though, and finish the E30 and make a space where the M5 is now.
For just this sort of occasion.
