StanceWorks is one of my favorite car forums. The builds on there are just amazing.

SyntheticBlinkerFluid wrote: Now you have me looking for E38 750s. This 750iL just popped up on CL up in one of the ritzy suburbs. Only $6900 and it sounds pretty good. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/5859840908.html
Yeah, it has the correct maintenance items done, and could probably be had for $6500. Looks like it has the chromeline interior trim package, which is cool, some aftermarket gauge trim rings (which means the dash was apart, which could mean the pixel repair was done, much like mine was:
The M-pars were added, as it's not a Sport (has chrome trim on the outside).
For anyone thinking about that car, just swap out the MK II CD based nav for the 16:9 Mk IV DVD based system and you're golden. (the later unit is more easily upgradeable with aftermarket options). I'd ask for pictures of the instrument cluster with the engine running to see if there's any warning lights (look for arrows at either end of the display where the time/mileage is displayed. Could be as simple as a light out, to something major. But it'll give a point to start negotiating if they are on).

I've only ever put 87 in mine and they work just fine. You really don't get any performance or mileage increases with premium.

Well I was thinking more in the lines of them having a high enough compression to require 93 octane.

Nope. Not a requirement. Mine says 89 recommended.
Chris, in the photos of your 98 at the bottom of page 1, am I looking at a dark blue leather interior (because, if so, I have to write a quick letter to Santa...) or is it black & a light/camera thing added the blueness?
It's black. Just a trick of the light and the fact that it was a phone camera that makes it look blue.
