All the cool kids have Gravity Gray.

I liked the color "online"...and I'm here to tell you it's far better in person.  Tons of flake that look amazing in bright sunshine. I'm super happy that's what I got (which was what was available; the silver was actually my first choice based on the website).

It's the same basic color as our last 2 fortes.

The Gravity Gray looks great. I probably would've gone with that myself if I bought a 2022+.

I OK'd the search for GG, the blue and red. No white, silver or black.

Is this the same bobzilla that had the ElantraXD? I am the old gmtorque. I actually have two of these Forte GT's now. My 6spd has a few things that give it the power it deserves. PLus I get 35 mpg backroads to work. You should love it.

Seriously? Hahaha! Awesome man! Welcome! I'm the same crazy Korean car person as ever.

We actually have four of them now. Started with a 21 Forte GT dct for oldest daughter. She had a 21 Civic 5dr sport but hated it so much. So boring and slow. Thank god we got rid of the Civic, I know so many people with the Honda 1.5t with popped head gaskets. Seems to be a serious problem for Honda right now. The head bolts are stretching and causing all sorts of issues. Then My youngest daughter was due for a new car and got a 22 GT-line. Then I had a Maverick for two months and hated it, traded it for a 23 Gravity gray GT 6spd. And finally we swapped the wife out of her 21 Prius Prime for a 22 Forte LXS. In my opinion they are the best car for the money. The 2.0 cars are getting 35-40mpg and the 1.6 turbos are averaging 30-35 with some highway trips at 40mpg

The wife's Seltos with the same drivetrain as the lxs and gt-line but taller is getting 33-35, the same as her '12 Rio sx

Your going with a 6spd right? Any chance of making a couple upgrades to enhance the ownership experience?

In reply to 2023BD :

The promise to the wife was stock. For a while. I'll need tires by winter so I might use that as an excuse yo but sone wider wheels. But drivetrain will stay stock for at least the first 5/60 just so I can have a fun to drive daily with no worries about extra maintenance etc.

besides the Rio will be full time racecar so if I get bored with comfort and convenience I can always drive it around and remind myself how spoiled I've become.

edit: I'll need to sell off sone of these extra wheels/tires. Currently sitting in 19 wheels, 14 tires for the Rio. 10 15", 4 oe 17's and 5 16x7.5

Well as soon as $350-460 frees up the Racechip is a no brainer for this car.

Car that was due in this week has been pushed back until late next month. Supply chain still kicking my butt. I am not a very patient person to start with....I'm dying here!

Found a black car listed in Phoenix for $2k under list. Emailed them asking for details, explaining I am from way out of state and their little addons were not something that would be a benefit to me so don't start... and they send me a quote where they added $4k onto a car without actually adding anyrhing. Mother in law had an appointment with them the following day to look at a Seltos and I convinced her to not bother, they were scam artists through and through. Apparently, according to them every car dealer does the exact same thing.... except they don't.

here's their quote:

Such games but...

27,470.75 price before tax

Minus

25,810.00 MSRP

$1,660.75 net price over MSRP.  I'm also assuming that being an out of state buyer they wont charge you AZ sales tax (but you'll pay that to Indiana.)

Here in Ohio if I were buying a car the customary doc fee is $250 so, for more apples to apples comparison...

$1,660.75- $250 = $1,410.75 over MSRP.

I have not bought a car in the new world but compared to what I'm hearing $1,400 over is not that uncomon.

Id try using your MILs potential purchase (therefore two purchases) as leverage.  If you really want black...which has to be the hardest color to sell in Phoenix.

In reply to John Welsh :

Except that the MIL is buying a new Seltos in Tucson at sticker - $500. The Forte I am waiting on is sticker plus $199 doc fee. I won't pay over sticker. Period.

Nah these guys were douchebags through and through. Black isn't the color I want, but when you list a price $2400 under retail online, I can make due with black for that discount. Problem was it isn't a discount at all and they are in fact making up crap to sell to add a market adjustment without calling it a market adjustment.

That sucks. But I'm really shocked at $700 for window tint?!?!?!? I paid $400 for the lifetime warranty Ceramic Tint on the BRZ, including the windshield.

I even tried to be nice, allow them an easy out with "These add ons don't add value to me being out of state as I won't be able to use them in your dealership." They followed on with "all dealers add thes and they are not removable." Yeah... then decided to text repeatedly that price isn't the only thing that matters, as they have a great service center, pdr and blah blah blah".... Dude... I'm1700 miles away from you. Price is the ONLY thing that matters.

That sucks. And yeah, the only problem with buying a Kia is you have to buy it from a Kia dealer. In my experience, at least around here, they are all awful. And the availability thing is real. The least crappy dealer in the area (the one I bought mine from) doesn't have any and they aren't getting them for a while. I was thinking of trading mine in on a newer one since they keep hounding me to sell it back to them, but there are none in the pipeline to be had, and I'm not considering anything less than a GT. They always pull the "Well, we have the GT-Line, which is pretty much the same..." and no, no it is not. Completely different car underneath the sheet metal. I'll probably hang onto mine for a while.
