Brown or lime green are the best 911 colors
I can't say I wouldn't take it. I would. I absolutely would.
However, I'm not you.
Even if it's a cost savings, if the car doesn't make you tingly in the pants, why bother? There are certainly other cars that can be the appliance you don't quite care for.
Be patient, wait for what you want.
I'm sorry, but this may be the most (insert extreme adjective here) thread title I've ever seen on this forum.
No. I will not talk you out of it. Buy the damn thing already.

Lets see the MO over the last few years. He asks about a car, 5 people say buy it, 3 ask to be adopted, 3 ask what he does for a living, etc. Lotta effort trying to appease a guy with an old T-bird and a beetle.
You are more then welcome to come over one day and drive whats in the garage right now. I buy and sell cars on the side and sometimes I keep them for myself.

Can I? I'm mostly local

Just stop. It doesn't matter if he buys it or not. For the time being this is one of the very few places on the internet where we can ask about $400 cars and $80k cars side by side without people being jackasses about it. If you don't want to read about it, don't click on the thread.
while I like the turbo 911... I think if I had your cash, Weary.. I would be driving a long nose 911.. I would honestly love to buy an 80ish 911 and convert it. Best of both worlds in both looks and better mechanicals
Wait, you have an old beetle and T-Bird?
You gonna do a 930 turbo swap and a left over Roush motor with a 4 speed?
wearymicrobe wrote: Your going to laugh but there is a Macadamia nut brown 2011 for sale locally that I am going to go look at. something about a brown 911 turbo I kind of like.
There is peanut butter in this 911's chocolate. Looks delicious.
I agree. There's something about a high-end car painted brown. I dream about the Volvo Concept Estate and I want it exactly like the show car: brown with tan interior.
I just can't get with the earth tones. Maybe it was the remnants of the 70s I had to slog through in the 80s when we were poor.

What impact does a stranger on the Internet buying or not buying a car have on anyone? This is like fantasy football of car purchasing. Research the options, debate the stats, drink a beer.
Here is a strange little piece of trivia.
In 2012 and 2013 there were more Porsche 911s sold in the US than Lincoln Navigators. That's right, a 2012/13 Lincoln Navigator (8,371/8,613 units) is more exclusive in the US than a 911(8,528/10,442 units). In 2014 they both sold the exact same number of units at 10,433

lol, you created a new username just to complain about this thread?

Completely agree.
I've spent hours daydreaming over 'what car' scenarios - when my EV lease is up? If I won the lottery? If I got the house paid off? If I finally decided to go vintage racing? If I wanted to build a Chump Car again? etc, etc. It's fun.

I'm not a fan of silver cars, but this one I like.
Well got a deal worked up. Turned down the 911, could not find one with a warranty sub 90K in a good color with good options. Turbos are kind of like Bentley's just because Porsche lets you order it in Brown with Red leather does not mean that you should, nor is it worth more because it is rare. I3 will go to my dad to keep the mile off his new car for a little while longer. SSR now has the cam done and is going to its new owner in a few weeks. Cadillac is done and going to Finland I believe to a collector if we can work a deal. Leaves me with just the F350, the 55 Thunderbird and a space in the garage to build another 550 spyder for the weekends.
Decided to spend about 3K getting the F350 up to daily driving spec. New seats from a salvage car that is not a XL and some good wheels and tires off the same truck, along with a full service and getting the lift-gate updated and some tire cages for the rear.
Meet the new hotness, at least as long as it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. Price and condition have already been determined just have not seen it in person, this Friday I hope.
2010 ACR viper in Snakeskin green with ~5K miles and a solid 40K in modifications, should be around 650hp to the wheel with all the mod's. Got a second set of wheels ontop of the mag BBS's as well which I will sell and save the tires. ~9K usd Penskie 4 way adjustable suspension all the way around, all the extra aero, LSD upgrades, extra leather interior, full 3M wrap on the front, ported heads and intake, full headers, full exhaust. Cage in the rear half of the car. Tons of other little stuff, ECU that sort of stuff.
Plus its a viper so I can fix it with a hammer or worst case send it to Arrow to have it overbuilt for like 8K.
Should be fun.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Money does not equal taste.
Speaking of taste, you knocked a silver Turbo for a Kawasaki dirt bike painted Viper. Bold.
Nice though, from what I understand driving a Viper Coupe is a lot like driving a Lambo in that you get gawkers and attention everywhere you go.
Nice purchase. Other than the motor what else has been done to it? My understanding is Go has never been the cars problem.
Nice buy congrats!

Literately everything. Penske three ways, mag BBS wheels, sway bars and adjustable endlinks, some ACR-x components, Wavefront LSD, shorter gears bigger front and rear brakes.
Actually getting in the truck and driving up in about a hour to place the deposit. Took a day of wrk which never happens. I have been told by the Viper guys that the Penskies can be setup for street driving and are the most comfortable shocks you can buy for the viper and still be a full on race car on the weekend. they better be they are like 9K for a full set with springs.
I am fully aware that I bought a Kawasaki lime green penis extension. I am putting my money where my mouth is. Missed out on the Ferrari manual price climb on the F430's and these are my best guess to hold there value for the next couple years or increase dramatically. Also deep down I am just a redneck in a suit, I just could not see myself owning a modern Ferrari.
In reply to wearymicrobe:
I love the color. There isn't a single thing subtle about the Viper, so no reason the color should be either.

Dude, if you got a lime green penis and it needs an extension, that berkeleying car ain't gonna help.
Enjoy it, sounds like you found one hell of a ride. $9k for shocks and springs????
