OK, I just read the thread about the A&M miata hardtop disaster, and I'd like to start a paypal collection to help them pay for it. If 80 people kick in $10 each, that'll pretty much cover a nice used hardtop.

Unfortunately, it was 4am and raining. This bastard was completely destroyed. The only reason I knew it was a hardtop was the plastic panel across the front was still intact.
I can only imagine what the trucker who hit it must have thought. "What the berkeley was that? Did I just kill a ninja turtle?"
At least the thought of a giant teenage mutant ninja turtle getting hit by a truck is funny. The rest isn't.

That's great, a Monet could probably replace the hard top and then some 
one time, i was taking a first gen CRX to get scrapped.
we had it backwards on the trailer.
we had attempted to pull the windshield, cracked it a bit about 95% of the way around it, and stopped, angered at the need to now buy a 175$ windshield for a track car we were going to use it in. darn.
months later, on scrapping day, i was going about 75 down the highway with my brother-in-law following (crx was his car, his daily driver was also full of old crappy honda junk)
all of the sudden i hear (windows open ) a "PHHHHUNK". look back, and the windshield had been sucked out, and was rocketing skyward. got to about 50-60 feet in the air, then made a hammerhead turn straight down into the shoulder of the road, showering mikes daily driver in glass.
hilarious (lucky too).
