I noticed that the VW is plated in Texas. surely they didn't drive that to Florida from Texas, did they?
The beetle was trailered.
The track layout we ran at the firm starts off as normal, then after the kink there is a turn around that goes to the finish line straight away. However, we ran the bus stop, or shoe box, or whatever it's called. It was really fun actually!

I am glad I got out there, too. I did a few laps, robbie did too, but it needs more work...
It is disheartening to struggle so slowly making basic adjustments and stuff these days, but the food was excellent and the company even better!
As a first-timer, I'll tell all of you out there that haven't participated yet. You have to. This is a gathering of friends that has a competition attached, not the other way around. The amount of socializing way outweighs the competition time.
Fly into MCO or TPA Friday morning, rent a car, hang out in the parking lot Friday, bring it to autocross and maybe drag race, stay for the concourse Sunday morning and fly home Sunday afternoon. It's so worth it. Don't worry about being competitive, you need to be there surrounded by these people. They are beyond special.

FINE.
I will have a lot of FMV questions about stuff I already have. Sadly all the receipts are gone gone gone since all of the cheap stuff in the car was from over 15 years ago.

I have a lot of life situations to sort out first and also finish the damn Mini/WRX thing now that I have income again. But it'd be a good sendoff for the black RX-7 that is heavily modified and currently rusting, broken, and probably housing a family of raccoons.
In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :
If I enter, it either won't be rotary powered or it wouldn't be close to winning... Or both.

Or you can work with myself and our crack team of operatives around the cleveland area with that thing we discussed privately for the engine we pulled last week.
You're divulging that it's a VW Thing, now? I thought you were keeping that under wraps.

I'm sure that if I put the car up for FMV assessment, I could sell enough for recoup to get enough budget to do something more interesting than a car that is ugly, can't autocross, and runs low 14s. Or just say that the car was built for rallycross as the intended form of motorsport (this would not be a lie) and run the entire event on gravel rally tires, which would be slow yet entertaining I actually used to do this when a cruise-in in Akron would hold an informal autocross. It doesn't suck as much as it sounds grip-wise.
Your idea has more merit.

Nah, just a bachelor raccoon, you can recoup from all the beer cans he's left in there.

Careful now. Tampa folks gonna be makin $9,500 cars.

Just realized that Chris looks like he’s taking it easy in this photo. He loaded so many heavy things into that truck. Each time you hoist one of those ghose gravel bags, they feel heavier. Oh, and they were water-logged, too.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
I did feel bad seeing everyone coming back with more stuff getting more and more damp each trip even though I was packing many heavy things into the truck.
Here is our event recap video, so many cool builds this year and I am upset I couldn't fit them all into the video.
You'll need to log in to post.
