We were cleaning out the shop at work today. There was a bunch of aluminum scrap to haul off so one of the first trips was to the local scrap yard. I was shooting the breeze with the guy when he said someone scrapped a trailer and pointed across the yard. I looked it over and asked how much. His response, $200.00. I almost couldn't get the money out fast enough.
It's 6 X 14, just the size I need to haul the Abomination. It does need a deck, tires and lights, but not a bad deal I think.
You never can tell what good junk you find.

That's a screaming deal!!
Nice score! A true GRM trailer - it even has grass growing on it
He's as bad as me: you send him to throw stuff away and he brings back more than he left with. Killer deal, dude!

reminds me of my grandfather. he was a master tinkerer who could build cool stuff outta nothing. he'd haul his old stripped out junk to the yard and come home w/ fresh junk for the next project. I truly admired that man.
who scraps a trailer? i'm guessing someone really needed some money fast..
What gets me is on Craigslist, I figure it worth $500. The scrap guy said he gave $125 for it.
Now to get a title so you can get tags

SC doesn't require them on anything under 2000# empty and under 20'.

Either that, or it was stolen by a scrapper....
nice... around here that would be $500-800 as it sits :-/...
That looks exactly like the trailer my friend in Charleston got rid of not long ago.
If there are hammer marks in the front of the passenger side fender, that is from where it got pounded on after an RX-7 fell through the boards.

I hope we actually have the story behind this trailer. That would be cool.
I don't recall any hammer marks in the fender, but I'll check tomorrow.
The really funny thing is the FB sitting in the picture.
A n FC is what fell though, just the driver wheel up near the front where the plywood is in the picture.
It still took an hour to get out, though.
Yup, count me in the jealous camp. Serious score regardless. Keepin ma eyes open!
