Who's ready for some fun low-buck racing? We have 55 teams heading to Auto Plus Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, this Friday to compete. You all know the parameters: You have $2015 to create a car to excel in autocross, drag racing and a concours event.

My friend just bought his the other day. Looks like we'll have at least one P71 in the field.
I'll be spectating. The project car is about a decade away from completion.
I just bought one this morning, make that 56 entries...
Plus, we will see some of the past participants coming back for the 15th anniversary of this landmark event. Don't know how many of those are entered and how many will just show up, if they can get the car loaded. Great weather forecast, should be fantastic!

And we just took another late entry over the phone. Someone scored an E36 M3 for $1500. That brings us to 57 entrants. I'll have to dig through past issues, but I think that might be a new record.

I think the 2005 event (first one I competed in) was up in the 60s.

Unfortunately that isn't in the cards this year. 
Anyone building valve cover racers this year? Haven't seen any talk about those yet.

I'm bringing 3 VCRs (Valve Cover Racers). The Chrome ones are for my team. The Green Flat head in the back of the 2nd photo will have a "for sale" sign on it.
I'm just crossing my fingers I don't lose to a skateboard with a valve cover held on with a rubber band. :)

Forecast looks great this weekend. We have the most entrants we have had in 10 years. I should get there early Thursday afternoon, after I stop and pickup up ramp truck parts at NPD in Ocala.
