160 hp. 2200 pounds.
Yes, thank you very much.

As hideous as the current Miata styling is, I was entertaining it as a next car because of the rwd design and brillant handling. I can only hope that the new Toyobaru lives up to its hype in this department.
the Toybaru is exactly the reason that Mazda will not toy with the formula the Miata follows.
As for losing a billion dollars last year.. I blame that on the smily faces
It doesn't do anything for me. When I saw this I went out and gave my NA a hug. Well at least it did stay RWD and 160 hp. 2200 pounds sounds pretty sweet.
Doesn't really matter what Mazda does cause by the time it comes out we'll all be driving & racing BR-Zs anyway.

I tend to doubt that.. the BR-Z needs to prove itself first.. and Toyota does not have a good record on performance anymore

it actually looks "not girly."
I may finally be interested in buying a Miata in a few years.....that or a BRZ.
it will certainly be interesting to see where this goes... similar weight to the NA, similar power to the NC, hopefully looks that are better than that concept (although a recessed grille might go a ways to making it look better... just think how much worse the '70 split-bumper Camaro would have looked, if it had a flush grille rather than the recessed one, or even if the grille stuck out half an inch past the nose), good weight balance, pretty much everything that made the NA and NB great cars, a 6 speed manual as-standard (like it should be, not even a F1-style flappy paddle gearbox will do, it has to have 3 pedals!), and maybe go back to the softtop/removable hardtop of the NA/NB, rather than the foldy hardtop from the NC?
