So my new part time job will be taking me to Vegas during the SEMA show. I'll be working for one of the rallycross teams, which I enjoy. We'll be getting entrance credentials for the show....but I'm not sure how much time we'll have.
Aside from the GRM booth, what are the must see things? or is a hit and miss affair every year. I'm eager to check it out, if and when time permits, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have.
GRM, will you have back issues there by any chance?(I'd guess no, but thought I'd ask)
Harrah's bfast buffet is on my list, been there before and enjoyed it.
Any decent karting around the city some place?

Ford's space is always pretty good. I mean yeah, they'll have a bunch of "show car" Foci and whatnot that are just wheel/paint/lowering jobs, but they typically have some good hot rods, too. Hot Rod Alley and Mopar's area are always good for the same reason.
No reason to hit the tire and wheel hall aside from the models.
I went last year. It was SO much fun. We started every morning at 8am getting on the FREE shuttle from our hotel. We got to SEMA and walked until 5:30pm and STILL missed an entire building apparently. Wear comfy shoes, take a nice camera, and be prepared to be completely desensatized to insane cars. That's the craziest thing, you see so many absolutely perfect and incredible cars that they become common place. I found myself saying, on multiple occasions, "Ugh, ANOTHER McLaren?" or "Oh look... Another Lamborghini..." The parking lot holds a lot of cool stuff. The Optima Ultimate Streetcar Challenge cannot be missed. They will line up in the parking lot area and you can check out all the cars. Very cool stuff.
Generally we don't truck out a ton of back issues, but we'll be there. My advice is to keep the chatter to a minimum–it's easy to get sucked into long-winded conversations at SEMA.
Also, the booth babes are not interested in you.
Oh, you will meet a lot of cool car people. Like famous car people. Just be calm and normal and you'll be OK. Don't geek out. LOL
My buddy asked one of the booth babes if he could buy her a house. She remembered him for the rest of the show. Every time we'd walk by, she'd say "Hey!". LOL

+1 to Will
We'll have a pretty modest booth, ( # 24524) but I'm sure we'll have a few select back issues to choose from. Honestly, if you are looking for a particular issue, you are better off just calling the office:
1-800-520-8292
If you are limited for time, what I'd do is start up near the Renaissance hotel and walk along the outside of the show all the way down--- checking out all the outlandish creations parked outside. Then head in to the Central Hall. ( shown in red on this map)
http://www.expocadweb.com/sema13/ec/forms/attendee/indexTab.aspx
The Central Hall will have most of the performance and racing stuff. Subaru usually has a booth right at the entrance, and heading straight ahead will get you to the massive Ford area. As you are walking, stay to your right hand side heading into the Hall--- in the courtyard between buildings they usually have cars on display and a drift exhibition. ( the Lexus LFA was there recently) Head on down and do a lap. There's plenty to see.
I'd also avoid the wheel and tire section unless you need some comic relief, or are doing a documentary on the behavioral patterns of pretentious douchebags. There are ports in the storm like Konig, BBS, Kumho, and Pirelli, but most of it is ridiculous bling.
have fun, it's a show unlike any other!
The booth babe thing isn't my style.
I'm on my feet all day anyway, so I plan accordingly.
Looking at the website, I'm kind of surprised the show is only 9-5 daily. I'm staying right there, so thankfully I can swing by with little planning/transportation.
No worries on the back issues...figured if you had them, I'd get them in person( I need to buy a bunch of the issue my kid is in for Christmas for my relatives). I'm more interested in the race technology stuff. I'm not a bling type of guy.
