Tinted windows, and swap the shift knob to a different pattern. I have a 5 speed knob on my ms3 (Which is a 6 speed, good luck finding reverse, an I always park nose in). I had someone think about breaking into my car I saw the paw marks all over my window pulling it out of storage from the winter. However, while a few other cars in my garage DID get broken into, they left mine alone, likely because they couldn't see what was inside.

Have you considered upgrading the audio system? 
From what you have said, you might consider looking into having the tumblers replaced. (can a locksmith do this?)

A pro uses a rollback and a winch.
Wire your fuel pump relay into a switch. Hide said switch in a location not easy to find. If a car doesn't start up immediately, a car thief will most likely move onto another vehicle.
You can also do sneaky things such as wiring your lock-up torque converter solenoid to a switch that will cause your car to stall immediately when placed into DRIVE. (The equivalent of letting the clutch out too fast on a manual transmission.)
Having done auto claims for 15 years now, I can tell you for 100% certain, if a thief wants your car, he's taking it. Period. Don't care if you have a brand new Mercedes with state of the art technology. A determined thief will take a car, even if they have to use a flatbed.
That said, any of the above suggestions would be a good deterent for the "casual" thief...i.e. the 14 year old looking for a joy ride. I love the $10 in quarters idea!!
Good sized rust holes, a dent in every panel and dead battery are a pretty good deterrents.
