That's not an Urquattro, that's just a quattro coupe.  It also looks like it still has the factory 20v NA motor, so isn't worth anywhere near the $15k asking price.  Maybe if he'd built it into an S2 copy I'd be willing to pay that...

Thank you, now it has been evicted from my head.

That Citroen is still listed and price is coming down. I'm still not quite buying it.

"37 ft bluebird runs 8 3 triumph runs half title and a alpha male spider."  My spellcheck deconfabulator translates that to: This guy is selling a running 1983 37' Bluebird shool bus, a Triumph Spitfire that runs and has a title, and an Alfa Romeo Spider. I'm not sure what the $2,000 gets. I'd chop the bus into a hauler and bring the two cars to the Challenge. Too bad I'm already full up with awesome projects.

BMW X3 and a V8 Touareg, $1,200 for the pair. I messaged the seller because I think it could be an easy fix and quick flip. I also am glad that they have not messaged me back because *reality*.

Oh hell.... One minute after I posted that, the seller sent me a reply. I might look at them tomorrow. Maybe trade one for the Citroën? Tomorrow is a day off and I should have the Boxster that I just swapped the engine on back out of the garage and on the road by afternoon.  ...really.

Yes, I did. No, I shouldn't have. Most likely both will be scrapped rather than repaired. If I'm smart, I'll pull a few easy to sell parts off them and haul them to the junkyard next week. The Touareg is worst. Rain got in the sunroof and trashed the interior. I drove the BMW home, but expect the misfires are bad valves (as the seller said). Probably not worth the cost of the repair. The truth? ...I enjoy taking things apart more if I don't have to put them back together.

I'd read codes to ID the offending cylinders, then move ignition coils around to see if the misfires follow. BMW coils are cashed by 100k, and about $30 apiece.

otherwise, unbroken headlights and taillights will get you most of your money back, then there's cats and rims for the really low-hanging fruit before you scrap.

I just listed the X3 on FB market 'for parts or repair' and am already busy fending off potential buyers. Misfire on 3 still after swapping with 1. It smells of old french fries, spilled soda, and cigarette smoke.

I really wanted the Touareg to be better than it is. The BMW was never that interesting to me. I am still considering gutting it to make a toy/next Gambler 500 car. Drivetrain looks decent, but there's some damage to the wiring. Interior needs to be pulled out and either power washed or replaced. ...and I start to wonder, what fits on a Touareg drivetrain?

If you feel like it, swap spark plugs between 2 and 3 and see if the misfire follows the plug.

I played with it for an hour or two. Plugs are old and #3 was sooty. The coils don't look good and there are two different brands, so someone replaced them 'as needed' rather than all at the same time. Oil change shows due in 2018 about 30,000 miles ago. The windows don't work. ABS and TC lights are on with a code related to the transfer case. I am not inspired to fix this.

I was really hoping that someone would buy it whole for parts, but everyone contacting me was looking for cheap daily transportation. I have sold a lot of used cars, but I am not a 'Used Car Salesman'. I just marked the sale as pending. I tried to talk her out of it all day and she keeps saying she wants it. Needs transportation because she can't find a ride to work every day. Her mechanic uncle will fix it. "No, I don't think you can safely drive it all the way to [her town]". She's looking for someone with a truck and trailer to get it tomorrow. I'm trading it for a 90cc 4 wheeler. At least the BMW is better transportation than a 4 wheeler.

The troubled BMW E83 has been traded for a beat up '08 Polaris Predator 90. A fair trade. The buyer said that she has family with a scrap yard and they told her that they can find her what she needs to fix it. Better her than me. The more I looked at it, the more I found wrong. It is a perfect example of what happens to a BMW when you stop maintaining it and just drive it until it shouldn't be driven. My grandkids are going to have a blast with the Predator and I can haul it with me to Gamblers and play with the mini-bike guys.

I still need to get the Touareg home. It is too wide to fit on my trailer (rails). The seller has offered to drop it off or I may get it Monday with another trailer. Facebook Market has shown me another Touareg that I shouldn't get. It needs a transfer case and is undriveable. The question is, how deep will I get into vehicles that I really don't need. I hear that the transfer case is a pretty simple job.

...Not today.

...and funny thing. I mentioned to Ian, who sold me the two SUVs, that I was finishing work on a Boxster. He said that he knows of a guy in town that has a bunch of them. Turns out that he knew about the '04 Special Edition flood car and my many others. I'm the guy. Not sure if he's following me here. I'll have to ask.

The Touareg:  Ian delivered the Touareg to me when he had time and a truck available. With the purchase of the Touareg and X3 I didn't look at cars to buy for a while. I did consider the White '05 Touareg for a couple days as a way to get use out of the one I bought. It possibly just needed a transfer case motor which is only requires removing 5 bolts and 2 wire connectors. Even though I like Touaregs, I decided that it wasn't a good project to add to the pile.

After it was delivered, I did an assessment of the condition and quickly knew that it was junk. Too much of the wiring had been hacked, headlights and tails were mostly cracked in a few places and the interior was shot from sunroof leakage. The engine was a 4.2L V8 which I love, but I already have two and this one had a totally slack timing belt. I decided to just grab the easy bolt-on parts from the car and quicky scrap the rest; Four wheels with good tires, Front brake calipers (Brembo 6 piston), Air-ride compressor + tank + manifold, Nice aftermarket 2 DIN stereo w/nav and installation harness with canbus adapter, Seat control modules, Fuel system parts, some modules and easy to pull engine parts. I didn't take time for the AC compressor or Alternator, but usually grab those when I scrap. It was 4,660 lbs on the scale at the junkyard and with the two cats cut off and sold with it brought me $577 on top of all the parts I kept. Nothing to brag about, but I enjoyed the process and easily got the vlaue out of the two that I paid for them.

If I had the Somerset, I might get entirely different bad ideas. Although they don't preclude using it as an engine and interior donor.

Almost, but I'm really feeling good about getting rid of a full trailer load of Boxster stuff this weekend. Bringing a car home would kill the buzz.
