Sweet! I know it's an Olds 98 instead of a Cadillac, but the first picture caused the song "Whitewalls" to start playing in my head.
What year is it? My dad had a 76 4 door with the 455 for a while. I should have bought it from him when he sold it.
Its a 69. When I was a kid my neighbors inherited a 69 88 hardtop (4 door without the post) I loved that car and we all played in it cause it just sat there for years. I was able to get it when I was 16 but by then it was all rusted out. I kept the engine and trans.... I still have the trans in my garage! I sold the engine to a local drag racer just a couple years ago.
I found the blue one in my avatar but sold that to get married. That was 7 years ago. Lately I have been looking for another hardtop, there were a few 88's and a few 98's that I liked...I'm strange because I liked the four door cars better, I know, I know but that's what I like. I liked the convertible 98's also but a couple I wanted got away from me. This one popped up on craigslist, I found it by searchtempest. The owner was real nice and the car looked good so I hired reliable carriers to go get it for me. They delivered it today. Its going to stay in storage for a few months until this cincy weather gets better. I have a mechanic who is going to look it over for me, a place called performance alignment here in Cincy who is the best, he checks out all my cars even if they aren't performance cars. It will probably need new brakes but frankly, I expected that I would have to put a little dough into this thing.
Very nice, had a 69 Eighty Eight drop top for banger rally use a few years ago, loads of fun, yours is much nicer :)
NIce car! How's the top? I used to have a '61 Bonneville convertible, and probably the biggest job on that car was putting a new top on it.
You scored well! My dad had this exact 1968 "98" - white with black vinyl top, 455cid with a 4-barrel carb. My teenage driving netted me 10mpg but what a boat to drive.
We spent many holiday's traveling from St. Louis back to Chicago to visit the family up and down I55 cruising along at 70-75mph with 4 kids sitting in the back and my baby brother in of those 1970's hanging car seats between mom and dad.
