I replaced, cleaned and tested the vent system, and it had enough capacity during our test days. But it's so warm, and we're running the car so hard here, that it was boiling fuel and pressurizing the tank faster than the OEM vent system could relieve it. Our plan for a year or two now has been to make the car reliable, then install the 24-gallon tank we need to be competitive. We'll fix our fuel issues during that process. 

And what sort of cheap, safe vent system can you add in the meantime?  Or is that a story for the next issue of the magazine?  

Slight detour on the way home, we got a call from Wayne that his airplane had a flat tire and he needed help. It's all fixed now and he's ready to take off and we are back on the road. 

I have to admit, I started laughing when we pulled up and saw the park bench staged to be our plane jackstand.
