I have an family friend getting rid of a 2011 BMW 335XI sedan. I am thinking of moving one of my other cars out for it. It has 30k miles on it and would be $15k. It would replace my wife 2010 SAAB 9-3 with 110k or my son's 2005 Acura TL 6-speed with 205k. Thoughts?
The turbo motors are known for several significant failure points: high pressure fuel pump and intake carbon build-up, in addition to the water pump and ignition coil issues common to the N5x series. Working space is tight, especially with AWD. Very capable, but maintenance intensive, and some do not care for the AWD BMW driving experience (myself included).
