Sure, many modern high-performance sedans will be faster. But there’s nothing more exotic you can have in your driveway for $80k used.
They look MEAN in all black. Same thing with the i3 actually I like them when they paint the whole car one color.
I just checked cargurus and they have several with low miles for under 60k. Doesn’t seem bad at all.

My next door neighbor has an i3, in the standard white and blue color scheme. I see it every day so I've kind of gotten used to it, but there's someone in my office building with an all black i3 and that does make the car look a lot better.
I think it looks much better in solid black because that hides a lot of the weird body lines. It's the same reason many women have a "little black dress". It doesn't change the shape underneath, it just tricks the eye a bit.
A couple of years ago a doctor (of course) brought his i8 to our Autocross school and since he was cool he let me take a few runs in it.
My impression was soft suspension, little front end grip, catastrophically bad throttle response, fair power once spooked up. On a short practice course (25 seconds) I was more than a second faster in a CS NC (had also never driven before). So as an autocross car, big flop. But it was pretty and nice to drive. The potential costs of fixing it when it breaks however scare me way off one.
I'll probably be interested in buying one in 10 more years when they are breaking down and the repair bill estimates are $60k.
Then I'll have a car to do my J-swap into to make a cheap NSX (imagine, the BMW technohypercar being the 'cheap' NSX haha).

Anyone who likes high end cars knows that independents are the go to not dealers if you can't DIY! Lol that r63 quote was a dealer being over the top.

I generally dislike cars that are "colorless" (i.e., black, white, gray, or silver). But there's NO other color for the i8 than black:
Matte black and proper wheels totally transform the car.

I saw this in the parking lot at Target back in '16. Does the red make it faster? The red and gold "enhancements" don't work for me. Just leave it black...
Credit to the owner for using it as their shopping/errands car.
Nearest BMW dealer has a 2015 CPO with less than 17K miles for $76K.
Makes me itchy for one, but not that $70K of itchy.
