Tire fitting....no "stretching" involved...

Just wondering if a 215/50-13 size tire would fit on a 6" wheel. This would be for regular road driving. Not "hot rodding" around town or higher speed driving. Is 6" wide enough to use that tire size?

I'd call 6" a bit narrow, but likely doable. I have run 225/50 15s on a 6" and they are a bitch to mount.

I looked on tirerack.com and they said that a 6" rim is the absolute minimum for a 215/50 R13 so you should be good to go.

Test fit one to be sure the extra width doesn't contact the struts. You're going to have some bulge with a 215 section.

Unless things have changed, we're restricted to sticky, wear-really-fast choices from Kumho and Hoosier. Are there any others available?

I'm hoping the OP knows something the rest of us do not. Or maybe he found some used ones worth considering?

yeah, I was going to chime in with the fact that I'm in the process of selling a set of V710's in that size ... and those are the only ones I've seen recently , but oldsaw and banzaitoyota beat me to it ....

a set of them came on some rims I bought ... I tried them ... didn't like them as much as the 225-45-13 Hankooks I was running ( the grip/gearing worked better)... advertised them and got a hit the same day ... he and I are just trying to work out the logistics of meeting up ...

I've driven 215/50(?)r13 v710's on a 5.5" wheel, it worked pretty well, transitions were a little unnerving, but it was more a feeling than a lack of grip.

I think you'll be ok, just check your clearance once its on the car.

Thanks for the info and yes, I will check once fitted as the car is quite low and want to make sure I have all clearance.
