Man, 205's or 215's seem pretty narrow for a relatively heavy V6 sedan. I know it came stock with 205's, but those are obviously not performance oriented at all. The stock size on the i30t that these wheels came on is a 225/50-17.

I don't plan on changing wheels, although a 15 will fit. I'm willing to take whatever I can get that will work with these wheels...I know I should probably pick the best tires and then find wheels, but whatever.

That is narrow for a heavy V6 sedan. Your wheels are narrow, too.

Get some cheap 15x8s and 225/45R15s for the good tires, and some 205 whatever's for your 17s as "rain" tires.

For my x type I may try a set of the Generals they ate getting better reviews than the continental contiprocontacts I have.

And at less than half the price why not.

Don't have room in the budget for other wheels, I don't think, especially something specific like 15x8's. I have an extra set of Maxima wheels (also 17x7) that I'll throw whatever used tires on to drive down there, then I'll mount some good ones up on the wheels that came with the car.

I think I'm going to stick with a 225/45-17, since the stock size was a 225 and I would like a little more width than a 205 or 215. I agree, SFO, they are pretty narrow wheels for a car this weight, but it is what it is at this point. They would seem wide if this were 1999, haha.

I hear Federals run a little wide, so I'm thinking of doing a 215/50-17. Almost spot on for overall size to the stock tires, which would be good for using after the challenge, and they're $77 each plus shipping. They are the regular 595's, so I'd give up some stickiness (they're a 240 treadwear), but might be a decent trade-off. We'll see, I'll probably change my mind tomorrow. I should probably focus on getting the car put together and running first anyway.
