Good thing the E30 was an automatic m10 4 door bronzit sunroof car or I woulda been upset...
Dibs on eurobumpers
I knew the 99/900 had a strong body.. but I didn't realise how strong. Going to look at mine in a whole new light.
It is kind of a shame that volvo stole the "safety" aspect here in the US from Saab
One question I have though, when James is talking about going downhill with the 2 stroke.. I was under the impression that Saab two strokes (and some v4s) freewheeled when you take your foot off of the gas just because of that?
Coming from the land of ice and snow, I can see why they stuck with 2 strokes for so long. No oil in the crankcase to turn to molassis

Keep in mind that Top Gear is entertainment not history. Although the model 92 might not have had it, all the other early SAABs had a freewheel mechanism. I think that the there were quite a few parts of that eulogy that they just made up, or used common misconception with out checking the facts. All in all I still enjoyed it.
Yes it was a great segment. Now I'm off to read (for at least the 10th time) the great build series Per did onthe baby poo brown 99 rally car again.
What are the options of cheap LSD's for Saab's?
not sure on cheap.. I think there is a quafe unit availible for about a grand. I am thinking about to help keep the transmission together

LSD yes, cheap no. Go to SAABRally.com, there is talk of an LSD group buy. Also lots of talk about gearbox stuff in general.
Try this link. The discussion has been active recently so it may not be to late to get in on it. IMHO its not a good LSD for street use, the quaffie would be better.
