We’ve all done it: Spied a neat car out on the road and waited for a closer look.
Our latest quarry: a Civic Type R dumped on Gram Lights. And is that an aftermarket intercooler peeking out? It sounded good, too.

+1 for the missed connections lol
Oh yeah.. I've done that many times. Granted, I'm rarely the fastest car on the road, so most cool cars pass me.

Thank you, thank you. Glad someone notices the details.

I'll almost always coast to let a cool car catch up and give a thumbs up or peace sign. It's disheartening when the appreciation gets ignored but not everyone wants to interact with randos.
Bonus points for opening the window so you can also hear it.

Yeah, and sometimes you have to play catch up.
Wasn't hard in this case.

The weirdest I had was when I was driving through Virginia in my Miata and had some guy come hauling ass through traffic in a Lamborghini Gallardo, then slow up once he got alongside me and throw a few revs at me and then take off. Seemed backwards.

I drive like an old man, so I'm usually the slowest thing on the road. The other day we're driving pas Grand Junction and my girlfriend tells me she sees a cool old truck in the rearview. She slowed down but sadly the beautiful Advance Design took the next exit and we didn't get to let it pass us.

Sounds like a Road runner cartoon ......beep beep..........................vroom.....
Isnt this what jeep people do for every jeep? Jeep people and boat people, the most friendly people in the world. Slow down, speed up, we all friends so need to spend time together.

I had a similar experience on 95 on my way home from an autocross in Jacksonville. I was pacing a beautiful red Ferrari for about twenty minutes until he slowed for his exit. He gave me a big grin and a thumbs up when I went by, which I was happy to return.
Perfectly normal, and definitely have to roll the window down to hear it!

That is totally true.
