Towing like a boss....

I met a guy last year who lives on an fairly large mid 60's Chris Craft cabin cruiser. The thing is powered by two Ford 427 side oilers. I remember him saying running 5 minutes at top speed used $400 in fuel.

I wouldn't be surprised if that guy has a big trailer at home. My dually has a trailer connected the majority of the time. Sometimes it's a 5x8 and I'm sure people make smart ass comments, but the majority of the time it's a big gooseneck trailer.

I don't think you're exactly understanding my sarcasm.....and I'm quite certain that person uses the truck for heavier-duty things, lol (in fact, I know he does because I looked at his build thread). That wasn't really the point.

Also, it's really hard to find a photo of a big dually towing a little teeny trailer.....

If I needed to transport a teeny trailer with a dually, I'd just put it in the bed. :) The 4x4 HF tire trailer that I used to own would fit just fine in my 2500 Silverado.

I think you're getting the wrong read on duallies towing small trailers! The reason people with duallies pull trailers that arent any bigger than the truck bed is because they cant comfortably or safely load whatever they're moving up into the 2nd story truck bed, so they hook the truck up to something with a more comfortable loading height.

And, i actually did load my folding 4x8 into a truck bed once. By myself. It SUCKED and it was dangerous. And i'm a pretty strong and formerly reckless dude with the joint injuries to top it off. Ive learned enough from doing things like that that i'll never do that stunt again unless i have to.

A few weeks back during my morning beltway commute there was a GMC 3500 pulling a HF 4x4 trailer (with no deck on it, like he just bought it or something). I tried to take a photo of it, but too much morning sun glare. It was one of the more hilarious things I've ever seen....I kept having the mental image of him trying to back the trailer into a driveway or something, haha....
