Wow, I like that. I think it's better looking than the Genesis (which I also like.) More of a new Mk II/III Supra than a new AE86 though.

The front/quarter/rear shots are all flattering but the side on shot is disturbing. The car is FUGLY when viewed from the side. The rear is far too tall, the cockpit is bubbly to say the least, yet the front end is nice and sleek? it's like a G35 sedan smacked into a Ferrari, half hatchback with a pretty nose, nobody's making a proper rear anymore. Sad.

Hmmm, that is tasty.

I wonder if they are ever going to release some "official" stats for the thing. I'm ready RIGHT NOW, to go trade in the Speed3 for this.

I disagree, the most recent Panoz Esperante race cars were quite good looking from the rear, same with the current gen Lotus Elise and the something-2009 BMW Z4. the 2011 Z4 got all fuglyfied, though

I definitely want specs to be released for this thing, even if the rear end on it is a bit ungainly. what I would like is if proper kammbacks started reappearing. it is properly hard to screw up a flat panel, unless you bolt a massive bumper to it or put ugly tail lights on it. kammback, round tail lights, no bumper. look at a 3/4 rear shot of a FFR Daytona Coupe and tell me I'm wrong. exactly.

A Porsche 911 and a Chrysler crossfire had a baby. And I like that. (I too like the Genesis, and this is like a steroid Genesis)

I think it will look nice when they drop some of the concept car sharp edges. Wonder if the windows are tinted out because the interior is missing/incomplete?

I want more hatch, but really, I've ceased to care what this thing looks like until they release a production curb weight and official MSRP. Weight and price are what make or break this car for me, not looks.

I still think that thing is going to end up FWD and be the replacement for the Camry Solara, that is, if it ever comes out at all. I just don't trust today's Toyota.

Released prices and specs are confusing.

So far, i'm seeing $29k (god i hope that's not the base price), 170hp (UGH).

They better get this thing some power or drop down that price or they won't sell ANY. The Genesis/G37 will eat this berkeleyer alive.

They have the Scion TC which this thing will steal sales from left and right if it's priced in the low 20's. Truth is, the TC and this car are completely different animals, other than the fact that they are both 2-doors. When the FT-86 is priced so high that no one buys them, Toyota will come back and say that there's no market for a car like this and other companies will follow suit, just like in the 90's. It will be bad for everyone.

At $30k I'd be looking at a new Mustang GT ($32k and you get 19s and Brembos) or 370Z...............NOT this car.

I'm hoping that they're going to release more engine choices. The n/a boxer, a 2.0T, and the STi motor maybe.

The $29k would make sense with the STi motor, for sure.

Not so much with the n/a 170hp lump.

Toyota = old GM, they better take note...

depending on the curb weight, that 170hp lump might not be so bad, but the STi motor or even a WRX motor would make more sense I think. and definitely drop the MSRP down a bit, but I'm really not sure where they could shave money from without making the car worse in a way the end user can't reverse (such as a cheaper type of rear suspension, or something of that nature)

Good thing that Subaru is making it, too, huh? Subaru has shown the drivetrain already, and if this car goes into production, it will be RWD, no ifs, ands, or butts.

The only questions remaining are if they will cancel it at the last minute, what it weighs, and how much it'll cost.

Even less than the new tC, i think. Because THAT makes sense.

If it's $30k with a 170HP lump... The price/performance ratio of that would not be worth it, unless it weighed 2000 lbs +- 50.

I'd either take a Miata instead (similar HP, less weight likely, less $$) or a 370Z (way more HP, similar weight, similar $$)

I would say $25k, 200HP sounds acceptable

I've seen the Subaru concept versions, and I still think it will still end up all stupid. This is Toyota we are talking about. They forgot how to make sports cars somewhere in the 90's, with the exception of the MR-S. I understand that they want to get more serious with the sporty stuff, but I won't believe it until I see it.
