Trying to put some camber plates on my Toyobaru today, I have the pass-thru wrench and hex key arranged like so to remove the stock strut top:

I try to squeeze them together as hard as I can, the tools flex a bit but they don't budge, tried lifting the front of the car, no difference. Also tried putting them 180 deg apart like handlebars and pulling on them, that didn't help either. Any ideas? The repair manual specifically tells you not to try impact tools here.

"Cheater" bars, i use appropriate-sized deep well sockets with long extensions for additional leverage when I can't put a breaker bar on something. Slide the socket over the wrench handle and stick the extension into the socket.

Impact. Ignore the manual surprise

An inpact should be ok to undo the nut.

Verus' solution is apparently "Damn the repair manual, full ugga duggas ahead!"

One quick blast from the impact knocked it loose, can get it the rest of the way off with hand tools. Thanks all yes

Nice.  Came here to say you have the right setup, just need a longer handle for more leverage (aka umph, aka ugga duggas)
