Anybody know anything about them?
I know where a late-'60s Crown Deluxe lives, and it really wants to come live at my house. The carb's been removed (years ago, by the look of it), and I'd bet the engine is stuck, but I'm having disturbing thoughts of transplanting a Datsun 6 cylinder.
Something like this:
I love that era of Crowns.
I'm a stickler for putting modern engines of the same manufacture in the old cars of the same manufacture.
I would do a 7M-GTE, 1JZ-GTE, or if their is room, a 1UZ-FE, but that's my personal opinion.
John, if you decide that it cant come live with you, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know where it is so I can bring it home.

Not a "stickler" but i love that idea as well. Or putting it on an all modern factory chassis. Awesome
1UZ, or if you are really into classics... dump a vintage Toyota 4V or 5V in there... nothing like a hemi under the hood of an old car...
the last one I saw on ebaY - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Toyota-All-Aluminum-V8-HEMI-Style-Engine-4V-Series-Can-AM-Racing-Rat-Rod-/260873434212?nma=true&si=ap7HdVnougVAID9H4UZfOYNyUJ0%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Had a Crown wagon for a short while. The motor is an M series (2m) so the 5 or 7m is the "easy" swap.
