Does anyone use TrackAddict, Race Chrono… ect…IOS for data tracing? Second question if you are, can you use the Iwatch (Smartwatch), rather then storing your phone on the vehicle? I ask because i will be using my kart and I rather not have my phone on me if I don't have to.
I've used TrackAddict, generally pretty good but the timing can get spotty if the GPS signal weakens, and the OBD2 connection has been spotty for me as well, but that may be due to a wireless connectivity issue I'm going to try addressing with an extension cable to move the OBD2-BT device next to the phone. Here's my thread on the topic:

As an option that you can set up with devices you already own it's great value for money, but once you add in a high-frequency GPS receiver to get closer to the capabilities of a dedicated racing data logger, the price starts to get close as well.
I don't know about any smartwatch options, but to get good G-readings the device would have to be mounted flat in the vehicle. I do know that there are some Android smartwatches that are really just tiny wrist-worn Android phones. A used phone from a thrift store could do what you want while keeping your "good" phone safe.

Not an iUser but in general, can the watch connect to bluetooth devices? Or if not does it have good (at least 5Hz) GPS? I have no idea if you can run it off of the watch, but if you're stuck with 1Hz GPS you basically might as well not bother. And as mentioned if you want half decent acceleration data you want something static mounted (well...as static as anything can be on a kart). Personally I don't care about G traces much so I'd try the watch if it has good GPS, but at 1Hz nothing but *maybe* lap time is going to be remotely useful.
In reply to dps214 :
Yeah from my experience with the built-in 1Hz GPS, lap times are good if you have a strong consistent signal, but anything else you might get from GPS data is a joke.
