Does anyone else think it's unacceptable that the  Treadstone Performance kit in the FR-S article had to be cut and re-welded?  Is there some reason it couldn't be made to fit properly in the first place?

I felt the same way. And yeah I'm sure with a fair amount of mass produced kits there will be some shall we say massaging to get things fitting correctly I would be extremely angry to have dropped close to $5k on a kit and still need to do cutting and welding.

Just for reference. I have an 8th gen Civic Si. There are both supercharger and turbocharger kits available for about $5k. When I pay that much money for a kit on this mass produced car I very much expect it to all bolt up and come together without much of an issue.

If they weren't capable of fixing it themselves I'm sure a quick call to treadstone would have came up with a solution.
