So I still have an issue with my RS after the headgasket. Same as before idles fine, Hesitates at low RPM, no power when under a load. I have no codes being shown. I was able to time it with the ALDL(diagnostic port) jumpered by placing a spacer under the throttle to keep the car running. It wouldn't idle w/out it.
When I have the key on but the car is not running I have a clicking sound that is coming from the fuel rail. This sound continues with the fuel pump relay pulled out but ends if I pull the ECM relay. It also continues if I have all the injectors unplugged but the ECM relay plugged in. I listened to the fuel filter and can't hear it. It also listened at the connection for the secondary intake runners mechanism and it isn't coming from there. It is heard most plainly on the fuel rail.
I feel that my issues are related to fuel and I think the clicking is a clue but I can't for the life of me figure out what the cause is. Any ideas on where to look?
Check your fuel pressure?
Clicking sound found it was my IAC.

Doesn't explain the hesitation under load though, right?
Nope has nothing to do with it. The original problems still exist. Need to get a fuel pressure and compression tester.

I have nothing to contribute to your problem, but I'm bumping this for you. I really want to see you get the car up and racing. I really love the Impulse RS's.
Ahh sorry Foo I did eventually figure out what was going on. It was low fuel pressure so I pulled the tank and figured out that I had gotten an incorrect o-ring with the new fuel pump. I replaced it with a proper one and had pressure and that took care of it. I decided though to put the car up for sale. So if you or anyone you know are looking for an RS check it out. I'd be happy to answer any questions. I wouldn't take the car for any long trips but its certainly drive able for a short test drive.
