if its a popup. why not put racks on the top of it and go that way. my brother did that with his popup. put his canoe on one half and his bikes on the other half. we custom made what would look like a truck roof rack.

I actually like the way it looks on my F350. I guess it depends on the truck...and personal tastes.
They're a bit spendy, but for the convertible aspect (cover on/ cover off) they're tough to beat. I can go from a protected cargo area to an open bed ready to receive a bucket of mulch in about a minute.
