Or was I out that day? I don't remember this one from BITD, either.
I wonder how many times the writer's room got shot down on doing a rust-themed STD awareness episode.
I do remember it from BITD. I never could remember the name of it but I always asked people of my age group if they remembered it. I got a lot of sideways looks. IIRC he turned into the car if he got mad or ate something hot, correct?
It's nice to finally be able to put a name to it. So for that I thank you sir!

That I remember. (Oh, Robot Chicken.) I didn't realize they were making fun of a real thing. Well, cartoon real.
Yep, watched that on Saturday morning. Cartoons just aren't what they used to be. Which might be a good thing in this case.
80s cartoons were SO BAD. I don't know about kid's cartoons now, but man. That's some grade Z E36 M3 right there.
Yes Turbo Teen. It came up in a thread a while back but no one could remember the name of it.
It is terrible like most of that era. But it was a ice pirates or attack of the giant gerbils kind of fun.
Suffering through those type cartoons made the complexity of Robotech a miracle thing on TV.
I remember watching that! Did anyone else also watch "Pole Position":

Never cared for G-Force. I was always more into "Star Blazers". Of course once I discovered the original japanese version of "Space battleship Yamato" I fell in love all over again. And now that the redo is out.. 2199 is even better.

One of the best theme songs , ever. Too bad there was only 13 episodes.
When you only have 3 channels, of course you watch turbo teen. As I recall it aired kinda later...maybe 10:30. It was one of the last cartoons Saturday morning before they transitioned to boring old American Bandstand reruns.

Ice pirates! That movie was awesome to tween age me.
It actually holds up! Watching it as an adult you can better see just how firmly their tongues were pressed into their cheeks.
I have it on VHS but no VCR to play it.

Still disappointed that self-driving cars don't talk or hover.

Try watching Ice pirates then Guardians of the galaxy. The inspiration for GotG is somewhat felt.
