Looks like I'll be keeping her for a while. She needs more power. It's turbo time.

I'm having a bear of a time finding out exactly how to accomplish this. Should I spring for the BPT? There are several sitting at local JDM dealers. Price ranges from 1500 to 3500. Should I get a BP and do my own turbo add on? What about a B6T or just slapping a turbo on whats in place (B6 8v)? What's the best option here.

And finally, can anyone point me to a complete build thread? I want to know what parts I need to scrounge and how to put them together. I've spent hours on clubprotege and I can't find E36 M3. Correction, I find lots of E36 M3, not what I'm looking for.

Thanks,

Jeff

"Should I get a BP and do my own turbo add on"

This. surf craigslist for BPT as manifolds do pop up. Also there's a fair number of protégé/323/BG parts groups on facebook that have popped up and stolen clubproteges thunder on parts sales. If you want to make crazy going to break your trans level of boost you'll want to source GTR rods, which run $2-350 a set.

I'm looking for an honest 200 whp. That plus a diet the car is going on this winter, ought to make it a bit more fun to drive.

Stock bp, manifold, turbo, fuel system, plumbing and megasquirt will get you there with ease and reliability

Hell a stock bpt drop in with a boost controller will do 200whp as well. Probably be cheaper by the time you buy a bp, source the turbo bits, and pay for a megasquirt.

Other option: boost the B8. It should do 200 no problem i'd imagine.
