Looking at Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires for our daily driver. We live near Cleveland so good rain and snow traction is important. Does anyone have any experience with these tires?

I had them on my 280zx when it was a daily. They do well in the rain but never get much snow here so cant comment on that.

I haven't had any all-season tire that was worth a damn in the snow unless it was a high-end tire like a Nokian WRG or Conti DWS. Closest would be the Kumho PA31 which I would describe as "better than most." Then again I live in Wisconsin so I have high standards. YMMV.

I ran Tiger Paws on my work van for a long time. They were great tires and would regularly go 90K between replacements.

Again, no experience with snow.

My parents ran Uniroyal Tiger paws on their van back in the 80's. They didn't believe in switching to winter tires so they ran them year round in Cincy which back then got some decent snow and ice events every winter. They never had any issues going anywhere. I never used winter tires until I had to travel for work all over Ohio and it just seemed appropriate in the winter months in a van. The only tires that I ever had any issues in the with were the BFG Comp T/As on my 96 Impala SS, those just flat wouldn't go even in a dusting. Hell I drove my 1982 BMW 320is home on a snowy day on dried out track tires with no issues. I think the Uniroyals will be fine but really the way I would do it now would be dedicated winter tires on separate rims.

Wow. My dad ran Uniroyal Tiger Paws on his van back in the day here in Cincy, too! He ran those year round and it was impressed upon me at an early age that conversion vans can go almost anywhere when there's snow on the ground!

So another vote for the Uniroyal tires, assuming they haven't changed anything in the last thirty years or so.

Mom has them on her Crosstour at the moment. Can't comment on snow/ice merits but they're pretty good in most other situations.

Parents Chevy Waggon had Tiger paws circa 1986 in Mass! No snow tires it did fine. Back then the malls were closed on sundays (old blue laws) Dad would take me to the mall and teach me how to drive in the snow...but all i wanted to do was donuts and try to drift...

That's when drifting was known as "driving like an shiny happy person."
