The pushrod is about as high up on the pedal arm as it could go. I'm only about the height of the clevis (1.5in?) below the pivot right now.

Hmmmm. That does make the problem more difficult. It sounds like the bigger bore may be the only answer. And if the pressure drops to much get more boost on the system.
