You have my offer via email. That said, it's probably worth more to the flippers, speculators and scoundrels to polish and sell for a ridiculous sum over on Pelican Parts forum than to one of the deserving, self-wrenching, blue-collar, gentlemen drivers of GRM forums.

Ok thanks. Like I said, his daughter is in charge of it. I'll try to figure out what her plans are asap
If we're getting picky, I offered to buy it when you bought those tires from me.
I'm sure you can get a GT3 for about that much right now....

I love how everyone thinks an $8,000 site unseen offer is a low ball. It is a grey market car, that has been sitting for years. It is a non running car that needs work. Once that work is done, from what I am reading, it's a $20K car. I'd think $8,000 is pretty close to the correct value, in this condition.
It's the wheeler dealer in us. We all imagine we can clean the gas tank, change the oil, add a battery and throw a bucket of water on it and have a nice full market value a/c 911. My history with cars says it's more like a 3-6k engine refresh, clutch issues, needs brakes and suspension, mice in the wiring plus fuel system, belts, oil lines and a cracked windshield just to add insult to injury. and yeah I still would be interested.
A car is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. Nothing more, nothing less. It's really very simple.

I watched an aircooled 911 that spent the last 10 years in a shed sit on Craigslist for weeks at the paltry sum $5k. If I had a garage spot open...
That is a gorgeous car. Wish I could afford one.

I think it's a fair price considering the gamble that 911's can be. I also said I think it's worth considerably more if someone can spend some time getting it running and driving and there are no major issues. That's what I'd try to do if I were the OP. Tell the seller that he'll work out the bugs and they'll split any profit over $8k. That's really the best course of action. Sometimes people don't/can't do that kind of stuff and really just need the money and need it gone. That's what we're all really hoping for here. She wants $8k tomorrow. I can do that.

My offer wasn't fake! The last time I did this I followed through and ended up with a three ton green station wagon. My wife would complain way less about an extra 911 than the wagon.
I can vouch for that . Real stand up guy
