The rotor covers the ports so use the rotor and mill out to meet weight spec.

Done

Well I built another racer last night that I threw together in very little time using a Lot of "Zip Tie Engineering" (Copyright 2012 Cobra Kai Racing all rights reserved). I rolled it on the table and it was much slower than our other car. Much slower. Like it had the parking brake set.
I should have tossed it in the garbage, but instead I decided to roll it across the carpet ....... and it flew. I tested it again, and it flew. If this race is on the carpet in the banquet hall, this racer has a chance (assuming it rolls down the ramp with any velocity, which is iffy). Can we carpet the ramp? Kidding. :)

A WRX or STi valve cover would be perfect heavy and a very low profile.

Can my valve cover have a belly pan? Or is that too much modification?

That's fine, I look forward to seeing it!

Went to this VW show today and they had valve cover racing.
With air-cooled VWs, the valve covers are itty bitty.

I was at a swap meet today and found a Buick straight 8 valve cover. Sadly, I have no venue in which to compete.

My 3-year old and I built the Litte Lamb-orghini entry from 100% borrowed or stolen components. I will have it in the wind tunnel this afternoon.

^ That is sweet. ^ Love the wheels.

Tom, have you decided how the eliminations will work?
Is it something like Loose 3 and you are out? I have not done something like this since I was 8, and I was not paying much attention then, so I'm a bit lost. (I would say to borrow the Martin timing equipment, but odds are that we would all drive under the light. :)

Will there be a concours component to the valve cover race or is it strickly a performance challenge?
