One of the (almost, there are sadly none really close to me...) local U-pull-it yards is having a 50% sale this weekend, and I'm hoping to head up there for a bit tomorrow for find a few things that I could use for the Rampage's intake/intercooler system. Since there are probably close to a thousand vehicles there and I'm not looking for a part specific to any one but (in the first case), I want to limit what I'm looking at. I'm specifically looking for:
- Intercooler piping/connectors, most likely aftermarket. I need to pipe the intercooler for the Rampage as cheaply as possible, so if I can find the setup in the yard at half off, it will be perfect
- Intake hose, 2.5" or 3", ideally several feet long (or common enough I can connect several together) to connect the air intake to the turbo
What cars are most likely going to have one or both of these and I should be focusing my attention on? For the intercooler stuff, I would assume things like Eclipses? For the intake hose, I have no real clues since each vehicle is unique- but since collectively there's probably knowledge about every vehicle under the sun, I figured it was worth asking. Thanks!
Eclipse was my first thought, WRX was the second. Switching from a TMIC to an FMIC is usually the first mod on a WRX.
For big intake hoses, I'm thinking big 'Murican engines in sports and muscle cars, especially Corvettes and Vipers. But an intercooler hose could serve just fine as an intake hose.
You might get lucky with a turbo car, but my guess is you are more likely to find non-turbo cards with "intakes".
Think Honda and Nissan sport imports.
What about an EcoBoost 2.0? (I know, my answer to everything lately.)
They're in a bunch of newer cars, and have 2-1/2" lines. They tend to go for $50-75 from the recyclers. Probably cheaper you-pick-it. Brand new from Rock-Auto they're around $80.

Saabs and Volvos for the intercooler connectors and piping.
Look for Audi A4's. The 1.8T started in '96..
Good suggestions everyone, thanks! To note though: I don't need an intercooler itself, already have that- just that the piping it came with won't work at all for the Rampage, so I need to get it hooked up.
Also check out any heavy duty or diesel trucks/Van's . The yard here got several retired Ambulances and they were all turbo diesel so lot's of intercooler and intake piping there.
