He convinced me to trade him my Montero for his Shelby Lancer.
Despite my allegiance to RWD, I said yes. The added MPG on my commute is a very welcome change.
I never thought I could be convinced to drive a Chrysler product or a FWD car again, much less at the same time! I must admit, it is maybe a little more fun than I thought it would be.

Might want to fix the front diff on the Montero before you go off road :P
I messed around with it some yesterday. My routine is Neutral > 4h > Park > 4-Lock > Drive. It usually works. But going BACK to unlocked takes a few tries..
Anyway, i hear the Dodge is already fixed because Dodges are easy to fix..
I prefer to call it a Shelby, I don't want to own a Dodge. :P

Whats up with the front diff? I just bought a 97 montero so this is relevant to my interests 
Sounds like an interesting swap, you both get new problems to diagnose!
The central axle disconnect doesn't fully engage, causing crunchy noises when in 4x4 when the center diff is open.
Ouch. I hate that sound. find some new friends on 4x4wire, i've gotten some help on there recently.
Eh, i can make my own thread about Montero problems if they ever actually bother me.

I loved my 85 Lancer ES Turbo, if it had the Shelby additions it would have been just about perfect. Great trade!
Yeah, i think it fit both our situations.. it's just another in a long line of turbo mopars for me, but i've never had a 'full size' SUV before.. my significant other said it 'suits me'. I dont know how long i'll keep it but i like trying new things vehicle-wise, especially when they are budget neutral.
