Most of me doesn't care but I was bothered by the whole "If it saves even one life" thing. I've driven cars in the past that can't reach 180 kph so it's not like the limiter would impinge on my lifestyle.
I just feel that absolutist statements such as that put you on the slippery slope to unintended consequences.
Living here in NYC, 112 mph is rarer than hens teeth. On a motorcycle, short bursts. Limiters won't change my lifestyle. A nanny attitude bothers me though. I also don't like a machine telling me what to do. On a public highway, for me, 75-80 is comfortable. I know I can control the vehicle in a safe manner if the wrong situation develops.
My Volvo will happily cruise at 90 plus if I'm in the mood.
