I was really surprised how close a 4.0L V6 base mustang is to an FRS on the track. It didn't even look like a high end build since it still had the factory rims on it.
I'd have to see from a different angle but if she was making contact as much as it looked like she was, We would have had to write up all those and I know the local stewards would have not looked kindly on it. Tough to tell 100% from the bit I watched but she should come to Run offs and see how good she really is.

At some point you have to admit to yourself that you're holding the other car back and just let it by.
Not if you don't want to you don't.
Well, if you believe in good sportsmanship. I will do what he did in practice, minus the dirty little brake checks (not sure what you cal them, but letting off to upset the other drivers rhythm) on turn exit, but I will make the other driver/rider work for the pass. That's what practice is all about. During the race, when it's that obvious that I'm holding someone back, especially if there are cars in front that they can probably also beat, I do the right thing and let them go. We all pay to race. Let the other drivers race too.
I am glad that I wasn't the only one who noticed the brake checks.
I am not a road racer and have no aspirations of being one. So I am coming from a layman's position on this one.
The other thing too, is that you're only seeing it from inside her car. I bet if you were able to see both cars on the track, the blocking would be far more obvious.
while I'm not sure, it seems like they were racing for the class win … sure there were vehicles out in front of them, but the SRF's for sure weren't in their class

I watched the video once and IIRC the Frisbee was racing in STU and the Mustang in T3. The Mustang also qualified lower on the grid as he came from behind to pass. That suggests he was faster and just wanted to play because he slacked-off enough to let her catch up so they could race again.
But, what do I know?
According to the posted race results, they were both racing in STU, along with one other car (Miata). Based on "best lap" and qualifying times, she was between 1 and 1.5 seconds faster than either of the other cars. On Sunday she came in last, this video was from the next day where she won obviously.
I has theory.
She spun on her own at 10:00 (over corrected) & 18:31. She rear ended the Stang hard enough to hear it on the audio at 18:03.
None of her race lines were the same as the other cars.
What if she had a much faster overall car but the Stang driver over used it getting by her. The last spin I think she checked it hard and went low. The butt of the stang never moved.
Fun race to watch but I think she is still figuring it out. Evenly prepped cars I don't think would have been as tight.
