Wow. Some of that stuff going for insane prices. I just watched a stack of assorted hardware go for $1000.

So much for those projected prices. Stuff is bringing strong money. Saw 4 Kerosene space heaters go for $100, which is fair. "Assorted lubricants and cart: $1000"

Saw a lot of "assortment of Ferrari AC parts" go for ~$500. Looked like a dry sump to me.

Wow! Everything seems to be going for at least double what the auction company High estimate is.

Going crazy high. Here was one item easy to research.

Sharp LC70LE755u 70" TV sold for $1,700
Similar Sharp for $1969 New and not bounced around the countryside.

If there is a 10% auction fee or other BS this person just paid $1,870. 15% = $1,955

The cars I can see going for "higher than market" because they are associated with Level 5 and will always have that pedigree.

but the hardware? the TV? lubricants?

I do notice most of the wins are going to an internet bidder. Maybe he's buying it all back from his jail cell. Or it's Russian hackers.

At these prices, I'm going to need a payday loan.

Yeah on top of the $100 registration fee.. Do these people not research prices before bidding? I had my eye on the scales and road case lot. Thier estemate - $200-250, sold for $2200. Retail price is like $1800. Maybe some poor sap is thinking he's getting a deal of a lifetime.

Auction Fever. Happens a lot with tools and the like. I watched someone pay $100 for a rickety 6' wooden ladder once when a new 300lb rated fiberglass one is the same price. Tool auctions are like bizarro land.

You could not replicate Hurricane for $117,500 in parts and labor, let alone development time. but yeah, the bidding pool for a 1,000hp 996 track car has got to be a pretty small niche.

I was eyeballing the Honda generator as their estimates looked like a deal. Reality less so.

Of course the auction estimates were low (thats how they suck you in!) Whats the bidders premium? 18% Tack that & tax on top of every purchase.

That 996 was a million dolla car, so a bargain. The small stuff went for crazy money, probably because the larger items (cars) were pretty reasonable - if you're already spending 60k on an IMSA car (that you budgeted 100k for) you can pay full price for a set of scales.
