Remember this car:

From the $2016 Challenge? It's owner, Andrew Neuman, couldn't figure out who built it or why. Well, we just got a letter that claims to have all the answers.

Ben Robertson said: In my latest issue of Grassroots, great magazine, there was a question about the history of an odd ball Infinity Q45 that participated in the 2016 challenge as a car that was run just as it was purchased. Who put a cage and graphics on a Q45 and why? I am 90% sure I have some back story but my evidence is weak. The car was built for the 1995 Longest Night of Nelson by Kryderacing. They, Kryderacing, showed up with the one you saw in race trim and a second brand new Q45 as a parts car. They struggled with cooling the car and attacked the front with a saws-all at one point trying to get more air to the radiator. I also remember the car having 4 piston front breaks instead of sliders. Evidence rundown: · Program cover- to give you some context. · Qualifying and 1st hour – team Kryderacing started 16th… and was the first car to run into troubles in hour one. · Grid and start pictures – The eighth car back on the right side is the Kryderracing entry… like I said weak evidence. I took the top photo with a disposable panoramic camera and you can see me in the bottom one; I am the kid with a white hat w/a blue stripe. · Entry list page #57 – I find it odd that the car is listed as a 1992 but listed in the Prototype class… the 1992 year doesn’t match the article year either. … like I said weak. To find more information (if you want it) I would ask one of the guys listed on the entry list starting with Reed Kryder, he runs trans-am these days, a quick search online, google, has his e-mail at Reedkryder@aol.com . So, what's the verdict? Did Ben figure out the mystery? Or is it just the tale of (another) gloriously-prepped Infiniti luxobarge?

Oh-oh, it has a racing pedigree. Andrew sold it way too cheap.

Is this the car that sat at the track for YEARS with the Kryder logo on it as well? I'm sure Reed could chime in more if someone contacted him. Hint: his shop is in Canal Fulton/Clinton, Ohio.

that's right by me. i had a standing offer on the car but told andrew to let his ebay auction run it's course, and someone came along with a better offer. i am kinda kicking myself that i didn't just pay him, but it went to a q45 enthusiast
